Classes
2023 Update #01- For 2023 we are conducting wildland classes. The classes listed below are currently open for enrolment.
If you wish a class at your location, contact us as we may have an opening you could book, we discontinue classes from July through to November for fire season.
Personnel who are experienced instructors and experienced at firing ops. wishing to become a CA-219 instructor, contact us for requirements and trainee opportunities.
Wildland classes from EMC are entrapment prevention based on our in-depth studies, learn “the rest of the story”
Our courses are for those who want to be well trained, not trained to minimum standards. Why take the canned ticket puncher courses that are missing fire behavior involved in almost every fatal fire in California when you can learn what others can’t or won’t tell you. Our courses can save your life. We will improve your competence and safety fighting fires or conducting RX burns.
Do not believe the global warming excuses for failure, Fire Behavior potential is Predictable! Even the Carr and Camp Fire, if you have our complete training that covers the 9 fire behavior subjects that kill and is missing from canned NWCG S290 and S390 that everyone else teaches! There was no new fire behavior, it’s all happened before many times going back to the 1800s, just untrained FFs. Our 290 & 390 are taught on 5-day schedule because a 4-day canned BS class has to leave out this life and death material.
Ca-219, We are the developer of the new “SFT CA-219 Wildland Firing Operations”. A live fire 32-hour course. This course will teach you more about firing, firefighting and fire behavior than you thought possible.
Experienced firing personnel wishing to become a CA-219 instructor contact us.
Pat, owner of EMC, has served 52 years in the fire service with the USFS, KRN, TLC. Pat served 22 years on NWCG Type 1 & 2 IMTs 20 years on KRN IMT. Pat’s has been Red Carded as OPSC, SOFR, DIVS, SITL, HELB, STEN, STDZ, STCR, FIRB, FELB, FOBS. Pat has planned and served on RX burns as Holding Boss and Burn Boss and as Fire Behavior Specialist. In 1974 Pat began instructing Fire Behavior, S courses & ICS courses with FS cadres and never stopped teaching and researching. These classes will be taught by Pat or one of our highly qualified associates who have a similar incident experience and a passion for helping you to learn.
